If we're gonna exhibit ourselves, let's do this properly. Here's the above with my replies snuck in where they belong. I hope y'all can read a properly quoted e-mail correspondence (Names maimed to protect the innocent):

(R., if this comes out all mangled, delete it.)

r. wrote:
> for another, i have never seen a batman film. TDK was my first and will
> > also be my last. i'm not into those comic-book-superhero-vs- supervillain
> > movie adaptations AT ALL

I've seen the first movie, with Michael Keaton, Kim Basinger and Jack
Nicholson and it was much the same unbearable hype all over, only to
result in a half-decent movie. Actually, I wasn't even so impressed by
Nicholson, cos he can pull these wacko roles off like it ain't nuthin.
As for the marketing-to-movie ratio: mountain : molehill.

The one I liked best so far was the one with Clooney in it. It had some
pretty funny dialogue to smother over the pathetic story line.

> > i simply despise
> > those movies out of principle. it's narrow-minded, i know. but fuck you,
> > that's how i roll. (o; it's just my way of making a selection in this
> > vast jungle that is the movie industry.

I had my buddy over last night and was gonna force him into watching
Milk or possibly a Kazakhan story of two deaf-mutes in a remote coalmine
in black and white, but he felt more like some really dumb Hollywood
action movie where you don't have to do shit with your brain. And this
was about as close as we got in my collection. - Now he still can't
believe how rubbish the movie was. ;) That'll teach him for next time. ;)

> > the love triangle between chris bale, aaron eckhart, and maggie
> > gyllenhaal?? bitch, please! and why did such fine actors as aaron and
> > maggie "sell out" to such a film? i still remember how i literally
> > yelled at my tv ("what the fuck?! oh come ooonn! jeeesuusss!") when the
> > half-faced (or two-faced) aaron eckhart just stepped out of his hospital
> > bed and went apeshit on everybody.

To be honest, I even thought Eckhart did a pretty half-assed job. He
couldn't play a villain to save his life. He was downright perfectly
cast for the [Thank you for] Smoking movie, but he can't even frown at someone who's about to kick away at his balls. Even with half his face missing he looked too cute.
Thank God Maggie was there to save some of the scenes visually. ;)
And I don't blame all the fine actors who took the job. That money was
probably really good.

> > and to be even more honest, i have no clue why everybody is praising
> > Heath to high heavens now that he's dead.

It's like all the newbie kids sporting Tupac and Biggie T-shirts,
claiming there'd never been any better rappers. Honky please!
Most of them couldn't name 5 other rappers to compare them to in the
first place. They're dead. Tough luck. Let's not waste our time over it.

> > because, let's face it, he was in a bunch of shit movies playing shit
> > characters. maybe he acted well, but certainly not so well that i'd put
> > him at the top of his entire generation of actors (although i could very
> > well be just an ignant motherfucker). almost everything (with maybe the
> > exceptions of The Four Feathers and Monster's Ball) that he did before
> > Brokeback Mountain was crap.

No need to exclude Four Feathers. His acting was fine, but the story as
such raises some troubling questions. Oh, the colourful natives, oh, the
noble savage, oh, all this wonderful pride and honour and we only want
the best for you little heathen bastards (Heath? coincidence??). God
save the Queen. And it's got Kate Hudson in it. No thank you mam. ;)

> > nevertheless, due to his sudden death at such a young age and his
> > mind-blowing Joker (which will always be his legacy), he'll forever be
> > the James Dean of our generation.

I doubt it.
Just wait till about next year or so. Heath who??

> > probably due to its fast pace. the 150 or so minutes just
> > flew by.

yeah, by the time I woke up the second time, there were a mere 40
minutes left to watch...

> > (believe it or not, i just wasted 90 minutes of my life for that. what
> > is wrong with me?)

nothing. ;)
You did everything perfectly.
btw, next time, make a blog post out of it and just send us the link.
two birds, one stone. ;)

[mind you, the moment I wrote this, he was already busy on this post. see how dumb minds think alike?]

As a last thing, TDK is still a long way from the Shitbrick Royale of
movies: the remake of King Kong. Gawd-dayum that was horrible. But
that's for another lengthy e-mail some other time. ;)

If you are in the coal mining bizz then vote McCain because Obama has you in his sights to shut you down. PA needs to remember what happened when the steel plant shut down. How many ghost town will Obamas make. If it wasnt for company’s like Phoenix Glass that part of PA would have gone out . You dont kill jobs ,You dont raise taxes and spend more on a weak dollar. YOU CUT TAXES YOU SPEND LESS AND YOU KEEP AMERICANS WORKING.

When he shuts them down not just the states the mines are in will suffer great economic collapse but the state surrounding them. WAKE UP Ohio, Pennsylvania. Wake UP Virgina . WAKE UP AMERICA. The on change he is selling is control .
